February Monday night Speaker:

   Leoni Hodgson - An overview of Esoteric Astrology - Esoteric analysis of charts 

 LEONI began studying esotericism with the Theosophical Society in Auckland NZ and Co-Freemasonry, then with the University of the Seven Rays, gaining a MSE in Esoteric Psychology and a Ph.DE in Esoteric Philosophy. She gained the American Federation of Astrologers Professional Certificate (PMAFA) in 1983. She has been teaching, counselling and writing about Esoteric Psychology, Astrology and Raja Yoga, for 30 years. Author of several self-published books, “OM - Union through Astrology” is available for purchase. Leoni currently a member Buderim TS Lodge and is faculty with the online international Morya Federation School of Meditation, in which she is the director of the Esoteric Psychology programme. Leoni lives in Brisbane, Australia.

PHOTOGRAPHS - At QFA meetings and events we often take photographs, some of these are posted on the QFA Facebook page, which is not a public site but restricted to friends of that site who are genuinely part of our astrological community.  Anyone wishing to join the QFA Facebook page has to either be invited by the administrator or request to join the page and have that request approved by the administrator.   Only event advertising is visible to the general public, other content is not. If you attend a QFA event and have a problem with your photo appearing on our closed site, please be aware of photos being taken at these events and avoid being in them.

DISCUSSION - Monthly meetings host lectures by various local Astrologers and visiting Guest Speakers. Members are encouraged to participate as speakers to gain experience.

TUITION - Qualified Practitioners provide support to members in private mentoring and tuition, or group classes and workshops. The QFA organises a venue and invigilator for students sitting national examinations.

STUDY - Our state collection of Books and Periodicals in the QFA Library are available on loan to members. The QFA collection of Conference & Lecture Tapes are available on loan to members.The national collection of Books and Periodicals in the FAA Archives are available on loan to members. A number of suppliers offer discounted purchases of Astrological Books to QFA members.

CERTIFICATION - The FAA national examination system was established to guage accuracy, technical proficiency and interpretive ability of members. Successful participants are awarded the Practitioners Certificate by the FAA on completion of examination modules.
PROFESSIONAL STATUS - Qualified Practitioners of the QFA Inc. may apply for membership to the Association of Professional Astrologers.

NETWORKING - Communications amongst members state-wide are enhanced with the publishing of our QFA Newsletter - Acrux. Monthly State meetings are supplemented with local group meetings. The FAA Journal is published quarterly and posted to all members, keeping members in touch with the national news and views.

CONFERENCES - Nationally, membership and support for Astrology grew to enable hosting of the FAA International Astrology Conferences, held every two years in a different capital city in Australia. The QFA hosted the highly successful IACs in Brisbane in 1998 "Living Astrology" and again in 2010  "Surfing New Waves of Consciousness - Fearless and Free". International Astrologers join the best of Australian Astrologers to deliver a wide variety of lectures and workshops. A favourite IAC highlight is the Southern Cross Banquet, a night of fine food and drink, presentation of national awards, celebration and dancing.

The 2014 FAA International conference will be held in HOBART at Wrest Point.
